Consultant/ATSC Brazil Implementation Team
As a consultant to Fraunhofer USA, led the effort for selection of ATSC 3.0 standards in the competitive international evaluation process for “TV 3.0,” Brazil’s next-generation digital television system.

Project Manager/New York Public Media ATSC 3.0 Conversion
Technical consultant to New York City’s first ATSC 3.0 “lighthouse” channel-sharing conversion, hosted by WNET/WLIR at its One World Trade Center transmission facilities.

Managed objective and subjective immersive audio system evaluations for ATSC 3.0 Audio Standard.

The Jerome Library at the Ellis Island Immigration Museum is home to "Voices from Ellis Island: An Oral History of American Immigration." Skip Pizzi served as technical director for the museum’s original oral history project, capturing firsthand accounts from immigrants who passed through Ellis Island. In these powerful interviews, they share stories of their homelands, the reasons behind their journeys, their arrival experiences, and their transition into American life and culture.

Technical Director/Ellis Island Memorial
Technical director of immigrant recording project for the Ellis Island Memorial’s Oral History Archive, which captured the recollections of 200 Americans who passed through the immigration process at this site. This material now is part of permanent collection at the site, managed by the U.S. Department of the Interior.

Development of Production Facilities/Public Radio International
Lead technical consultant to Public Radio International (PRI) in the development of production facilities for its international daily news program, The World, produced jointly by PRI, WGBH and the BBC. Also served as technology advisor to PRI’s strategic planning efforts, its on-line media service (Public Interactive) and its direct broadcast satellite service.

Technical Consultant/Audible.com
Technical consultant to Audible.com on the development of its original digital content-creation and upload facilities for the initial launch of the online spoken-word service.

Speaker/UC Berkeley Future Media Seminar
Speaker at “Future Media” seminar sponsored by the University of California at Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism and WIRED magazine, sharing panel with Nicholas Negroponte of MIT Media Lab, John Markoff of the NY Times and Kevin Kelly of WIRED.

Speaker/National Endowment for the Arts
Speaker at the National Endowment for the Arts’ ART 21 Conference on Art in the 21st Century, Chicago. Invited to repeat the presentation, entitled “Making the Transition: Analog to Digital,” to the National Council for the Arts (the NEA’s advisory board) in Washington, DC, and to the South Carolina Arts Council conference in Columbia, SC.
